วันที่ 30 เมษายน 2553 โปรแกรม Foobar2000 ซึ่งเป็นโปรแกรมเล่นเพลงขั้นสูง (Advance) สำหรับผู้ใช้วินโดวส์ ได้ออกเวอร์ชัใหม่ให้ต้องอัพเดทกันอีกแล้ว โดยเวอร์ชันที่ออกคือ Foobar2000 1.0.3 สำหรับ Foobar2000 นั้นเป็นโปรแกรมที่เน้นเรื่องประสิทธิภาพการทำงานเป็นหลักโดยไม่สนใจเรื่องความสวยงามอินเทอร์เฟชมากนัก ทำให้เป็นที่ถูกใจของผู้ใช้ที่เน้นเรื่องการฟังเพลงจริงๆ
นอกจากจุดเด่นเรื่องประสิทธิภาพการทำงานแล้ว Foorbar2000 ยังสามารถรองรับการเล่นไฟล์ในฟอร์แมตหลักๆ ได้ทุกฟอร์แมต สำหรับการรองรับฟอร์แมตพิเศษผู้ใช้สามารถติดตั้งแอด-ออนเพิ่มเติมได้ นอกจากนี้ยังสามารถรองรับยูนิโค้ด (Unicode) ได้เต็มรูปแบบ
